Who is the EGA Booster Club?

The Elmwood Gymnastics Academy Booster Club is a nonprofit organization composed of the parents whose daughters represent Elmwood’s artistic gymnastics team. The mission of the booster club is to assist with fundraising and other activities to help offset the cost of competing within this high level sport, as well as to raise awareness of this sport within the Greater New Orleans area. The artistic gymnastics team is composed of approximately 50 dedicated girls, who spend up to 20 hours a week training to develop the skills necessary to allow them to reach their full potential within this beautiful yet sometimes demanding sport. These girls are chosen from Elmwood’s recreational classes, and train year round. These athletes travel to meets within our state, throughout the United States, and sometimes internationally during their competitive season, which runs from late September through May. The girls currently range in age from 4 to 16, and must have the desire and athletic ability, and most importantly, the ongoing support of family and friends to succeed within this sport.

Who is Elmwod Gymnastics?

EGA’s reputation is one of pride and excellence both within the New Orleans area as well as throughout the state. The gymnasts are led by a highly skilled group of coaches who work to bring out the best in each athlete. Each year our girls consistently place within the top ten for each level at the Spring state meet. At the higher levels, Elmwood gymnasts have gone on to represent the state of Louisiana at regional as well as national competitions. Elmwood’s coaches also pride themselves for helping to develope athletes worthy of college scholarships. In the spring of 2006, Aftan Boudreaux was awarded a gymnastics scholarship to the Air Force Academy.

EGA’s athletes, parents, and coaches are a special group with one goal in mind: to make Elmwood’s artistic gymnastics program the pride and joy of the Greater New Orleans area. Thank you for visiting our website!
